Sweet Lou grew up in a sports family in rural New Hampshire. Basketball caught

Lou’s attention because from the time he was in the third grade until his junior year

in college, the Boston Celtics won the NBA Championship almost every year,

including eight straight years. Yes, eight straight years.

Sweet Lou grew up watching Bill Russell, Bob Cousy, Sach Sanders, KC Jones,

Sam Jones, Tommy Heinsohn and others dominate the NBA to the point that Lou

once thought to himself that the Celtics must own the NBA and that there must be

a rule that requires them to win the championship every year (kid logic).

After years of bugging his dad, a hoop and backboard finally appeared in Lou’s

back yard. The family spent many hours enjoying that little court.

Through his school years, Louie played lots of basketball. Unfortunately, not very

well. He never starred on any team, has yet to slam dunk his first basket, and never

hoisted a trophy. Fortunately, the game of basketball is so beautiful, there was still

room for Louie.

Lou’s enthusiasm for the game continued strong in every decade of his life.

After college, Lou took an unusual diversion into riding thoroughbred race horses.

Though not small enough to be a jockey, Lou made a living for almost six years by

preparing thoroughbreds in their morning training workouts. It was an exciting and

riveting experience. Lou likes to say that being on the back of a race horse is

not a joy ride but it definitely is a thrill ride.

After riding, Lou’s career pursuits turned to Human Resources, recruiting. This role was not

only safer, but it provided meaningful career gratification. Lou also returned to hoops for

enjoyment and exercise. Lou’s enthusiasm for playing basketball continues to this day.

In the last few years, a related subject has complimented his hoops activities.

That subject is brain health, brain function and the thinking skills associated with

the Executive Functions of the brain.

Through this website and his book “IN-GAME Individual Offensive Basketball”,

Lou articulates the powerful connection between physical performance on

the basketball court and our thinking skills and self-management skills.

Sweet Lou’s focus is on thinking skills, self-management skills, brain function and

brain health improvement.

Sweet Lou’s goal is to make raising your performance on the basketball court and

in all areas of life easier and faster through blending VIDEO and the

written word in a targeted, easy to understand format.

His hope for every reader is a full, meaningful and joyful life with many excellent hours on the court.
